Quick Update!

Well it has been over a year since I have last updated our blog. I guess it is about time. Well lots has happened and I don't know where to start. I will just start with posting about our new house. Ben and I bought a house in the middle of May and we are loving it. Here are a few picture for you to enjoy.

(No that is not our car nor trailer but it is the picture I took right before we bought the house)

(The view from the front door)

(The kitchen and family room)

(The kitchen)

(The basement, pretty empty right now)

(Our bedroom, again pretty empty)

That is the quick tour of our home. We love the neighborhood and could not have asked for a better place for us to be. The backyard is in the process of being finished. We just laid sod yesterday. Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

In other news my little brother Todd just left on his mission to Spokane, Washington. He leaves from the MTC on Monday for Spokane. He is going to be a great missionary. We miss him lots! Here are a few pictures right before he left.

Over labor-day weekend Geoff and Emily blessed baby, Kate. It was great to be a part of such a special blessing. We didn't get too many pictures of the occasion but here is one of the Godfrey clan.

We miss Geoff and Emily and their family but it was fun to spend a couple of weeks with them. My sister Trisha also had her baby in the middle of August. We have not been able to meet baby Ryan yet but we look forward to Christmas when we will be able to give him lots of hugs and kisses. Here is a picture of the cute little guy.

We love being an Aunt and Uncle. It is the best.

Lastly I have just started my student teaching in second grade and I love it. It is funny how nervous I was for the whole experience but now that I know the students I feel totally in my element. I know I am going to love teaching. It is going to be a lot of work this year but I also know that there is nothing else I would rather be doing. As for Ben, he has been traveling to the hip hop happening spot of Idaho, Falls. He is not so much loving that experience and looks forward to the end of October when he can finally stay at home. There is the quick update. I promise I will not go a year before I update again.

Life Lately!

Well, since we haven't blogged in what seems like forever, we have a lot of updating to do. First, Ben and I were able to meet cute baby Breckyn for the first time. We were able to spend a wonderful weekend in St. George with Bryce and Kelly but unfortunately my camera was not working. We returned home and were able to attend Breckyn's blessing. She is such an adorable baby and you can't help but smile when around her.

In other exciting and most definitely wonderful news .... Ben GRADUATED! He is officially done with his accounting degree and has a bright future ahead of him. He has worked so hard to get to where he is today and I can't be more excited and proud of him.

Ben officially starts his new job with KPMG on November 9th. He is currently studying for the CPA exam. Congratulations, Ben! We all wish you luck with the CPA exam.

After graduation and the end of the semester Ben and I both needed a vacation and what better way to spend it then going to Charleston, South Carolina. This was the Godfrey family vacation and what a trip it was! We stayed at an island beach resort called Kiawah. We stayed in a Villa on a beautiful lagoon.

We were able to spend time with the alligators (don't worry we didn't get too close).

The beach was definitely a highlight and lots of relaxing times were spent there. In the picture below is cute Annie enjoying every minute of it!

We were even able to sneak in a family photo.

The boys were able to get in a few rounds of golf (which could be an understatement) but I guess they deserved it. Don't worry the girls had their share of time shopping and spending time getting a massage. Below are a few pictures of the courses the guys played. The favorite was definitely the Ocean Course and yes, they were golfing right next to the ocean. How awesome is that!

We were also able to go to an oyster roast where I tasted my first oyster. I don't know if I'm a big fan but at least I can say I tried them. I didn't feel too bad about not loving them because Dan (Ben's dad) ate enough for the whole family.

We were able to eat some good low country barbecue. Here are a few pictures of our favorite restaurants.

We were even able to get some tourist time in which included visiting the market, shopping in downtown Charleston, and visiting historic sites.

Oh how we miss Charleston! It is rough getting back to real life. We miss spending time with the Godfrey clan and the beautiful sunsets and scenery, but we will definitely be back some day!

January!

For an assignment in one of my classes I was asked to make a blog. This is my attempt and we will see how it goes. The cold has been getting to Ben and I, so I thought I would post a picture of warmer times in hopes that summer will be here soon. To get our minds off the cold, we thought we would do something fun and go out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, the Broiler. If you have never been there I highly suggest it. It is kind of pricey but well worth it (we were lucky to have a gift card from our wedding a year ago). There is nothing like a hot bowl of soup and yummy fish. It is crazy to think that one year ago, Ben and I were starting our lives together. We have had the most wonderful year and have been so blessed. Hooray for delicious dinners, weddings and gift cards!!!
